Word Processors: Stupid and Inefficient

This is a fine essay, but honestly it is possible to have one's cake and eat it too, for the most part, with projects like LyX and TeXMacs which embody WYSIWYM instead of the WYSIWYG principle. -- water

I agree. IMO the interesting part of this essay is the emphasis on structure and the risk to produce false structure with wordprocessors. Also the comment on real-time rendering algorithms (WYSIWYG) being less accurate is debatable because it is an implementation dependant issue. -- MaD70
