<p class="comment">This is a fine essay, but honestly it <em>is</em> possible to have one's cake and eat it too, for the most part, with projects like _(LyX| http://www.lyx.org) and _(TeXMacs| http://www.texmacs.org) which embody _(WYSIWYM) instead of the _(WYSIWYG) principle. --_(water)</p>

<p class="comment">I agree. IMO the interesting part of this essay is the emphasis on structure and the risk to produce false structure with wordprocessors. Also the comment on real-time rendering algorithms (_(WYSIWYG)) being less accurate is debatable because it is an implememntation dependant issue.</p>
