Self-extensible

The term describing a cybernetic system that is powerful enough to accomplish some kind of meta-system transition: a way to abstract from some issue in a system-wide scope.

The means by which this is possible for various aspects of a system determine its expressiveness in some sense. Also, the degrees of openness and modularity have a significant effect. A system with an open meta-system may make use of this to extend itself more easily. Contrarily, a system with ill-defined borders makes self-extension more difficult, since the issues are not as easily encapsulated and expressed.
